BIO:
I am a Chapel Hill-based multimedia journalist, videographer, editor and photographer with a background in writing and public relations. I was granted a Roy H. Park fellowship in 2008 to pursue a master’s degree in visual journalism from the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During my time at UNC, I developed a passion for multimedia and documentary storytelling. I’ve held several leadership positions in documentary projects, including Living Galápagos and a client project for UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School during the summer of 2009. Most recently, I was managing editor of Powering a Nation, during which I led the team in conceptualizing stories, organized an efficient photo/video workflow, and worked as videographer on “Spilling Over” and editor of “Splitting Main Street,” short documentary films about the Gulf oil spill and nuclear power. I’ve also had the opportunity to teach audio/video content gathering and editing workflow to both undergraduate and graduate students. Outside of my graduate studies, I work on a variety of writing, photography, videography and multimedia projects for clients.
